I am delighted to be your Conservative councillor for Magham Down on Hailsham Town Council and current Town Mayor.
Having grown up in Hellingly, I have seen the area change drastically. I am a fresh voice championing your needs at Wealden District Council.
I have been a Hailsham Town Councillor, representing Magham Down, for the last five years, serving on the council’s assets and communities committees.
On the Town assets committee, my Conservative colleagues and I have saved taxpayers hundreds of thousands by cutting out non-essential expenditure and introducing greater financial rigour, due diligence, and tendering disciplines in assessing project proposals. We’ve also put together a plan to return the post office to profitability.
As a Town Councillor, I have made it my priority to fight for our local community, campaigning to stop ridiculous over-development projects and driving to limit the tax burden that the authority puts on residents. I have also had the honour of assisting in organising important local events, such as Remembrance Day parades.
The Hailsham and Hellingly area has seen a large growth in housing in recent years. This requires the provision of better infrastructure and services for local people including schools, medical centres and public sports facilities. I will continue to fight for these on your behalf.
