Teresa Blaxland is standing as your Conservative candidate in Heathfield, Mayfield, Five Ashes and surrounding areas and knows the area well having lived in Broad Oak for over 30 years.
Teresa is determined to PROTECT the countryside for future generations. She believes a Unitary Authority will DELIVER the savings needed to help fund our roads and schools.
She is a recently retired local Magistrate, a former District Councillor and was Chairman of the Heathfield Partnership where, together with the Parish and District Council, oversaw the upgrading of Heathfield High Street replacing rough tarmac paths with brick edged paving, railings, seating and planting baskets. The Heathfield Partnership initiated the Christmas lights and opening ceremony which is now an annual event. As Chairman of the Heathfield Partnership Teresa fought to keep parking free to help sustain our local shops and outlets.
This track record shows that Teresa will listen and does get things done for local residents and, if elected, she will bring this approach to the County Council.
Teresa will listen to YOU and can be TRUSTED to HELP. She understands local issues and, if elected, will FIGHT to put them RIGHT on your behalf.
A Magistrate for twenty years, sitting in local Family and Criminal Courts, Teresa understands the importance of feeling safe in our homes and the need for more localised community policing. She will try to build a stronger relationship between the police and our rural and town communities.
Teresa is an experienced School Governor in Mayfield and recognises the importance of our village schools as part of our local communities. She will support the provision of better targeted resources in schools and for the vulnerable in adult social care.
