"South East Water, what aren't you telling us about your water plans?" demands Sussex Weald's Conservative MP, Nusrat Ghani

Nusrat Ghani, the Conservative MP for Sussex Weald, has issued a further statement in response to water outages across the constituency.

Nusrat Ghani said: “Yet again we are plagued with water issues, and I continue to receive complaints from exasperated residents who feel they are being left high and dry by South East Water.

"We were under the impression that the recent hosepipe ban would eliminate the disruption to supplies, but the problem appears to be much worse with than we thought, as communications are now being issued by the water company imposing water curfews in Crowborough and Heathfield.

"It also worries me that the Priority Services Register may not be up-to-date, with assisted living residents and streets in Heathfield not receiving water. I’m also told that some households on the register are having multipacks of water being left in inaccessible locations.

After a months-long silence from Wealden Council on the issue, I am worried that we are walking into a crisis. Is there something we are not being told about the extent of the issue? I am calling on South East Water’s new CEO, John Halsall, to be clear about the true scale of the situation and the likelihood of further water supply outages over the summer months."
