The dedicated website, SackReeves.com, has been created for voters to register what Conservatives describesas growing public anger at the Chancellor’s conduct.
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said the Chancellor’s position had become untenable, declaring that honesty matters.
Ms Badenoch accused the Chancellor of using exaggerated claims to justify tax increases and additional welfare spending in Wednesday’s Budget.
Posting on X, the Conservative Party Leader wrote:
“Sack Reeves Now. We have learned that the Chancellor misrepresented the OBR’s forecasts. She sold her Benefits Street Budget on a lie. Honesty matters. Tell Starmer what he must already know, she has to go.”
The Conservative petition page states:
“Rachel Reeves wanted her Budget for Benefits Street so badly, she lied about the OBR’s forecasts. All so she could justify breaking her promise not to raise tax on working people. Labour’s lies are costing us more and more.”
