PROTECT the High Weald, says NIck
The draft Wealden Local Plan proposes substantial housing growth, raising major concerns about landscape impact, heritage pressures and traffic capacity within the High Weald.
The scale of proposed growth in some locations places considerable pressure on rural roads, drainage, heritage settings, and landscape character.
Nick Bennett says: “I am really worried by the sheer scale of housing proposed by the Green Party, Lib-Dem and Labour Alliance’s plan for Wealden District.
“We live in one of the most historic and environmentally-sensitive areas in the country, and once its character is lost, it cannot be restored. “
