Edward Butler, the Conservative candidate for Forest Row and Groombridge division at ESCC, has published his plan to improve life for residents.
The areas covers Forest Row, Groombridge, Hammerwood, Coleman’s Hatch, Hartfield, Holtye, Mardens Hill, Blackham, Withyham and surround, and Edward is the strong, local choice looking for election on May 7th.
Safer Roads – if elected I will undertake a Community Roads Audit with local parishes and communities across our area. We need a full assessment of local roads and to highlight priority sites for improvement..
Better planning that works for all of us. I will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that our area is not negatively impacted by Wealden District Council’s ‘numbers game’ Draft Local Plan.
Sustainable Sussex – Working with local suppliers and producers, improve access and affordability, reduce our impact on the environment and our carbon footprint.
Speed enforcement - If elected I will actively rollout Community Speedwatch across our villages and support existing schemes to expand.
Real Green improvements - if elected I will work with communities to identify land and funding for new woodland planting and community orchards. We need to protect and enhance our natural world and this is a tangible action that will have immediate impact.
Better government - local services cannot be run on hope alone and there are too many people treating local government like a hobby. It requires relevant experience and a team who are best placed to run the business of improving our services. Not just complaining about them.
He was joined in Forest Row by the local MP, Mims Davies, and met many residents very unhappy with their current Green Party councillors.
