Nusrat Ghani MP champions Crowborough's Clued-Up charity

Nusrat Ghani, Conservative MP for Sussex Weald, has recently visited Clued-Up charity in Crowborough to catch up with the team and to make sure that their services can continue uninterrupted after the closure of Lloyds bank, which is located in the same building.

Clued-Up is a charity dedicated to supporting young people aged 11-25, providing free and confidential advice and emotional support to over 900 young people from Crowborough and the surrounding area every year.

The Crowborough drop-in centre is a welcoming, non-judgemental safe environment open five afternoons a week, offering 1-2-1 appointments for confidential advice or acts as a safe space for children and young adults to spend time after school or in between activities to do homework, read, or meet with friends. A team of experienced youth workers can help with a wide range of issues including mental and physical wellbeing, sexual health, school challenges and others.

As the centre is located on The Broadway as part of the building where Lloyds bank will be closing in June, Nusrat was keen to catch up with the team to ensure that their services will be protected and can continue beyond the bank’s closure.

Nusrat Ghani said: “Clued-Up is a fantastic local asset, run by a dedicated team of youth workers offering free, confidential and non-judgemental advice and support to young adults in the area. In light of the upcoming closure of Lloyds bank, I was keen to make sure that the team are fully supported and that there won’t be any immediate operational issues for Clued-Up. The Crowborough drop-in centre is a great resource and can be used as a safe space to spend time without a prior appointment, so if please do not hesitate to visit them if you need any kind of confidential support, or a safe space to spend time.”
