Inaction over the illegal migrant camp and rising local frustration in and around Croborough has prompted Conservative MP for Sussex Weald, Nusrat Ghani, to write to the Green Party leader of Wealden District Council.
Crowborough Training Camp - letters to Wealden District Council Green Party Cllr Millward- on behalf of local residents frustrated with lack of local public meetings and action from WDC- ![]()
â Street drinking: a district council may impose a Public Spaces Protection Order on any public space.
This power is used effectively by local councils elsewhere. Why not in #Crowborough?
â Expansion of CTC: Following the failure of WDC to take planning enforcement or legal action against the Home Office, the potential time frame for the Home Office to occupy CTC has now been extended to 2030.
The Home Office have stated that Crowborough isnât cheaper than hotels- that requires large scale sites. I am concerned that the Home Office may build a bigger site and once again we will be let down by WDC - so I am questioning what they are doing to prevent site expansion.
I will share Cllr Millwardâs response to these very important points.
