“As the festive season approaches, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all residents of Hailsham for a Merry Christmas and a peaceful, healthy and prosperous New Year. “As the festive season approaches, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all residents of Hailsham for a Merry Christmas and a peaceful, healthy and prosperous New Year. It is my pleasure to share this Christmas message for 2025, reflecting on the past year’s achievements and acknowledging the challenges we have collectively faced.

2025 has been a year of both trials and triumphs. Many in our community continue to experience the pressures of rising living costs. I want to reassure those affected that support is available, and I encourage anyone in need – or anyone who knows someone struggling – to seek the assistance and resources provided locally.

It has been a privilege to serve as Mayor and Chair over the past year. I have been fortunate to attend numerous civic events, community gatherings and local initiatives, and have witnessed first-hand the dedication of volunteers, charities, businesses and community groups throughout Hailsham. The commitment shown to supporting both young and older residents is truly inspiring, and I am grateful to have been able to recognise and celebrate these efforts.

As I continue in my role as Mayor, I remain committed to attending as many events as possible and to promoting the work of local organisations, community groups and individuals who make Hailsham a vibrant and caring town. Together with my fellow councillors and the Town Council staff, I will continue to support initiatives that attract investment and enhance the quality of life for residents, making Hailsham a thriving community for residents and businesses.

During this festive season, I would also like to remind everyone to consider those in our community who may be vulnerable or in need, including the elderly, the bereaved and those experiencing food insecurity. Contributions to organisations such as Hailsham Foodbank and Pass It On CIC are a meaningful way to support our neighbours and help ensure that everyone can share in the spirit of Christmas.

We should also take a moment to express our gratitude to those who will be working throughout the holiday period – doctors, nurses, care staff, emergency services, retail workers and those maintaining essential services – whose dedication allows our community to continue to function smoothly.

On behalf of the Town Council and all its staff, I wish every resident a safe and joyful Christmas. May 2026 bring renewed hope, good health and brighter opportunities for us all.”
