Following the update from central government on 16 February 2026, the East Sussex County Council Elections are now due to go ahead on 7 May 2026. Below is a timetable of key dates.
- Deadline for receiving applications for registration Monday 20 April
- Deadline for receiving new postal vote and postal proxy applications, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes 5pm Tuesday 21 April
- Deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) 5pm Tuesday 28 April
- Deadline for receiving applications for Voter Authority Certificates 5pm Tuesday 28 April
- Deadline for notification of appointment of polling and counting agents Wednesday 29 April
- Deadline for notification of appointment of sub agents Wednesday 29 April
- First date that electors can apply for a replacement for lost postal votes Thursday 30 April
